EPRA
The Riverside Redevelopment is being delivered by the WA Government’s East Perth Redevelopment Authority in collaboration with the city of Perth, WACA, WATA and Trinity College. EPRA is an urban innovator, delivering certainty to government, community and industry. The redevelopment of East Perth has been the major undertaking of the agency since its inception in 1993. It involved the transformation of a disused industrial area into a prime, inner city residential community. EPRA is currently shepherding the renewal of 230 hectares of inner city Perth, including the East Perth Power Station and the Perth Cultural Centre Project.
Riverside
The eastern entry to Perth is undergoing reinvention. Known as Riverside, it combines high quality residential and commercial developments with educational facilities and waterfront entertainment just minuets from CBD. This 40ha precinct is set to become of the Australia’s most desirable inner city locations. With urban design measures to encourage walking, cycling and use of public transport with conservation initiatives, Riverside will deliver proud example of sustainable urban development.
Riverside will provide all the services synonymous with a lively, cosmopolitan city, including education facilities, employment opportunities, cafes, bars and a broad range of small retail outlets. At every step, EPRA have applied world-class urban design measures to encourage walking, cycling and use of public transport to ensure a pedestrian-friendly streetscape, linking the diverse attractions of this new neighbourhood together.
Riverside is one of WA’s most significant renewal projects, extending across 40 hectares of land connecting the swan river with the Perth CBD. A projected $880 million investment by the WA government and private investment will bring Riverside to life. Riverside will create more than 3,400 new residences for approximately 5,800 residents. 68,000sqm of the retail and commercial space is planned, with approximately 1700 new jobs being created.
